Carrot Halwa Recipe for Beginners

Carrot Halwa Recipe

- 2 pounds (1 kg) carrots, grated and peeled
- 6 cups (1 1/2 L) milk
- 2 cups (500 g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) cardamom powder
- 3 threads saffron
- 3 drops orange food coloring
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) butter
Directions
Combine grated carrots and milk in a pan and bring to a boil.
Boil, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens, about 20 minutes. Add sugar and cook another five minutes, then add cardamom, saffron, food coloring, and butter. Turn heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture forms a soft ball. Serve hot.
